In a scheduled Training Compassion course, a group of learners are assigned to a certified teacher and move through the course together on a set schedule. Joining a scheduled course is especially helpful if you want to move through the course with the same teacher and group each week and have more structure to guide you through the whole experience.

Tim Harrison
Hosted by Timothy Harrison

Timothy Harrison is Director of the CBCT® program at Emory University’s Center for Contemplative Science and Compassion-Based Ethics. Since joining the center in 2013, he has supported the growth and dissemination of CBCT through teaching, writing, teacher certification, and research collaborations. Drawing on years of experience in contemplative practice, education, and program execution, Tim has enjoyed teaching CBCT for 15 years and helping people integrate compassion into their personal and professional lives. He teaches CBCT in medical, higher education, and community settings, and works with a range of partners to make compassion training accessible and relevant for diverse populations. Tim’s teaching is grounded in the belief – evidenced in the impact of the Compassion Center – that compassion is a trainable skill that can strengthen well-being, deepen human connection, and contribute to a more caring and resilient self and society.
